W.i.P. Wednesday

There was a moment or two of sewing room crisis this last week when
1) the needle fell out(!) of my sewing machine while I was quilting an upcoming feature project; and 2) after switching to my back-up machine, the walking foot broke(!). Needless to say, my 'good' machine is in the shop for 10 days, getting an unscheduled checkup. And thankfully, the back-up machine is doing straight stitching just fine. W.i.P. Wednesday waits for no one, so on to what I managed to accomplish . . .

Finished projects
Metal Frame Purse - After my fun first glue-in metal frame purse, I really needed to make another right away. Seriously, I can't wait to make another one!

Sew Lux Challenge project - I did manage to finish this up. Once the tutorial is done, it'll go public.

Ongoing projects
Halloween Stitchery - Almost done, then I'll make a sweet little goodie bag with it.

Mod Pop Quilt-along - TWO blocks done!

Christmas lap quilt - Finally got the center 9 blocks sewn together, and 3 of the next set done!

Modern Crosses quilt & Dresden project - Unfortunately, no progress.

Upcoming projects
* October & November bee blocks - soon!
* scrappy Metrolink - who knows when, but I still really want to!
* more frame purses
* Polaroid block projects
* placemats
* Binary quilt using blocks from Modern Blocks Bee
* UR Priceless Blog Hop project - excited to start working on this!
* Christmas!

Linking up with W.i.P. Wednesday.

  4. That happened to me once too - the needle falling out mid-quilting. Thankfully nothing was amiss, I just put a new needle in and tightened it really good and carried on. Hope you get your good machine back soon - didn't you just have it serviced??

    The purple mod pop blocks look great!

  6. This has happened to me before too, but luckily it happened just as I was at the end if my row and didn't cause a problem. Now I definitely tighten my needle before I start sewing every day

  20. Those little purses just keep getting cuter and cuter. Did you get the glue in frame from the same place as the sew-in kind? The mod-pop looks pretty cool!

  24. I had the needle fall out of my machine while sewing awhile ago. For about two full minutes I thought the damage was much worse & I was really starting to freak out, then I realised parts of my machine hadn't fallen off, it was just in 'needle down' mode :) I was able to put the needle back in and keep sewing. I really can't part with my machine until the end of November, hopefully it can wait that long to go to the shop :)

  25. I'm taking my machine in tomorrow because the screw-head on the screw that tightens/releases your needle broke off and I've been sewing with the same needle for months...oh, the shame! I figured it was time and I'm caught up on bee blocks, so...

    LOVE your projects, especially the metal-frame purse! So cute!!!
