Tuesday at the Table

On December 1, hubby and I met some friends downtown and attended what has become one of my favorite holiday traditions - the Tom Douglas Cookbook Social.
Basically, it's an event that brings together a group of well-known Seattle chefs and cookbook authors, all offering tasty bites from their cookbooks, plus of course, their books are for sale, and they are more than happy to sign them!

Over the last few years, this is where I've met and mingled with Gluten-Free Girl Shauna James Ahern, Fran Bigelow, creator of our favorite Gray Salt Caramels, Piper Davis of the legendary Grand Central Bakery, Leslie Mackie of Seattle institution Macrina Bakery, and of course, Tom himself.

One of our favorite bites this year was Lisa Dupar's Ginger Molasses Sandwich Cookies. The recipe is posted on her blog {here!}, though we indulged by buying her cookbook as well. We are real molasses cookie fans and this one is extra special - pretty sure we'll be adding this to our holiday baking this year!

  1. OK, so you might have guessed I am not much of cook by now, but I do make a lot of fun Christmas cookies. That recipe looks excellent, especially with the ginger root and pepper added. I am going to give it a try, thanks.
