You know about 100 QUILTS for kids,
and I've told you about the 100 Quilts for Kids Quilt Along.
Well, the Storytime Squares quilt Kate made using Rae Hoekstra's pattern {see here} looks darling, and I decided I'd like to try to make one to donate to Project Linus. I don't have any charms packs on hand that seem quite right, but I do have some new (and older) DS prints, so why not use them, following Kate's lead? As I was cutting out my own charm squares, it dawned on me that some of my followers might have the same idea, and since I was cutting, I might as well cut extra and share.
SO, a give-away is the obvious result! I have two extra "home-cut" charm packs made of the fabrics you see above, each with at least 48 five-inch charms. Most of the fabric is from the new DS Sugar Creek line, but there's also some from Fairgrounds and Picnic. If you're interested, leave a comment on this post, and I'll choose two random winners sometime Tuesday.
Of course, I'm hoping you'll join the fun of the 100 Quilts for Kids Quilt Along and make a quilt to donate to a children's charity near you. Remember, the quilt drive runs September 15 to October 15, 2011. You can find out all the details from Kate at swimbikequilt.

Those fabric look luscious... Our quilt group made 45 quilts for a local child center ( orphanage) They will be given for Christmas this year. I blogged about the process and finished quilts. I think I like your fabrics better than the donated fabrics I was given.

What a great idea Debbie! I think Kate's quilt along is the perfect little quilt for a charm pack. I went to JoAnn yesterday to look for the Sugar Creek line and they only had 2 of the fabrics. I was surprised because they were just kind of stuffed in with some other weird fabric. I made 1 of my 100 quilts for kids quilts this weekend and ready to get started on another!
That quilt pattern is darling and I was thinking of using it for my charity quilts as well! Who wouldn't love it done up in DS fabrics? Thanks for the chance to win :)
If I were to be so lucky, I would use these fabrics to make a charitable quilt. Such a nice mix.
excellant choice of fabrics. have a stack and whack pattern using charms that would display this little bundle nicely.
sign me up debbie! i decided to make 2 quilts to donate to a kids cancer center, and i started piecing my charm squares for one, but i would love to use these for the other! i counted my others and only have 34 of green/yellow and 20 of blue. sadly inadequate!
These look great - I love that you can make a quilt from just a few squares!!
Lovely idea Debbie, and if I should win, then I would definitely have to make something charitable with them!
How nice to share! My local joannes only has 4 prints so far.
These are so fresh and pretty! Thanks for sharing yours - looking forward to seeing what you make for the worthwhile charity!
These are some of my favorite prints right now!! My JoAnn's has a few of them but definitely not enough!! :)
